    In 2019 the play Colloquia (how music saved Orvieto) <\/em>by David Zarko, was presented in both English and Italian at Teatro del Carmine to honor the 75th<\/sup> anniversary of Orvieto’s being declared an Open City during the final months of World War II. The international community sponsored the play as a gift to the city we love. The play attracted capacity crowds for all six performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This June we celebrate the 80th<\/sup> anniversary of Orvieto Citt\u00e0 Aperta, and are organizing a slate of events in its honor, culminating with a revival of Colloquia<\/em>. Watch for more info in late April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the meantime, we have begun to raise fund and hope you will consider making a contribution. Any amount is welcome. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Our goal is to match the \u20ac4.000 granted by Opera del Duomo for the production in Italian, and $4,000 towards the $8,500 budget for the English language performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
